A gem on the quiet side
This hotel offers wonderfully cozy rooms, and the location is perfect—just a few blocks from the bustling Fifth Avenue yet quietly tucked away. The traditional Mayan décor adds charm, and the beach club access is a delightful perk.
While the facilities are appealing, some areas need maintenance, including chipped bathroom tiles and a lingering lack of basic amenities like water bottles in the room. Notable effort on upkeep is necessary.

The overall experience was quite mixed. While the hotel had some perks like a cozy room with a lovely balcony, I faced significant issues with the elevator being out of service during my entire stay of four nights. I was in a Double Room with Balcony, and though the picturesque view was a highlight, the lack of reliable plumbing in the bathroom made it uncomfortable. I was there mainly to check out the nearby art galleries, which were easily accessible on foot, but the noise from renovations and nearby activities sometimes interrupted my peace.

Cozy rooms with traditional Mayan paintings create a pleasant atmosphere. The shower pressure and hot water maintain comfort during your stay.
Deteriorating room conditions, including old and stained furniture, far from ideal bedding, and broken items like toilet seats, dampen the overall experience.

The breakfast options always included delicious eggs, juice, and coffee, conveniently served next to the pool. The location offers a tranquil escape from the louder areas, providing easy access to the busy walking street while remaining quiet. Though the pool was shaded throughout the day, it was refreshing. However, the water temperature was noticeably cold, and the beds were uncomfortably hard, impacting sleep quality.

Great spot, just a street away from the famous walking street! Our room was spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony for afternoon relaxation. Plus, parking was easy-peasy right outside the hotel.
The pool was like a fridge all day long—who knew cold water could be a luxury? Oh, and the air conditioning drama on day one? Let's just say it was a warm welcome!

I had a great stay at Hotel Riviera Caribe Maya! The location is excellent, just a couple of blocks from everything. The rooms are cozy with nice amenities like air conditioning and a flat-screen cable TV. Plus, the shower had great pressure and hot water. It’s a quaint hotel with traditional Mayan paintings and a cute pool area.
Some areas need maintenance.
